In that window, make sure to select both HyperV and Windows Subsystem for Linux. To get both up and running, look for “Turn Windows features on or off” in the start menu: You’ll need to turn on Hyper-V and WSL. To run WSL2, you’ll need to enable to additional Windows features: Hyper-V and WSL. There you’ll see your Windows version: My OS build is high enough to run WSL2 To check your Windows version, hit Windows Key + x and click on system. In order to run WSL2 you need to be a Windows Insider and be on at least on version 18917 or higher. It can do pretty color printing, show git status and much more. For a color scheme to apply across all profiles, change it in the defaults section of your settings.json file. Color schemes can not be changed in the defaults.json file. Windows Terminal includes these color schemes inside the defaults.json file, which can be accessed by holding alt and selecting the settings button. The cursorColor and selectionBackground settings are optional. Every setting, aside from name, accepts a color as a string in hex format: '#rgb' or '#rrggbb'.
